A pre-teen (ages 9-12) nutritional workshop
Healthy body, peaceful mind

Mondays November 17th, 24th & December 1st @ 4:30
4:30-5:15 Parent & pre-teen group discussion

Cost: $175 +GST

This workshop will help both parent & pre-teen begin to understand the direct connection between the food we eat and the daily activity we do, to how we feel, focus, do homework, study for tests, sleep and interact with friends and family. Each session is broken up into two parts. The first part of the session will be together, focusing on healthy discussion and interactive activities. The second part will split the group up, with the pre-teens participating in yoga, meditation and drama with Casey Soer, while the parents will be having a group informational discussion with Dr. Jodi Larry, where hand-outs will be given out to take home.

Week 1
-Introduction, interview, role playing
-Exploring the relationship with food
-Pre-teen yoga

Parent session #1
SUGAR
-Understanding the biochemistry of sugar and how it acts like a drug in the body
-How sugar affects activity/hyperactivity, focus, concentration, mood, energy level, relationship with food, cravings, and sleep
-Natural solutions and alternatives to sugar

Week 2
-Exploring how foods affect how we feel - focus, do homework & interact with our friends
-Drama activity w/meditation

Parent session #2
IMMUNE SYSTEM
-How to build a strong immune system within your family
-Which foods affect the immune system and contribute to inflammatory illnesses, such as chronic colds, asthma, eczema, allergies,
-How to use nature's medicine to combat these conditions and build a strong immune system

Week 3
-Building self esteem and a comfortable relationship with food
-Pre-teen yoga

Parent session #3
STAYING HEALTHY & HAVING FUN
-How to keep it healthy in the home, while still keeping it delicious
-Tricks on how to sneak nutrients into your meals and snacks
-The most important foods and nutrients for development, growth, brain function and energy

Mens Only Yoga
with Viviana Petrarca

Begin a 4 week exploration of yoga fundamentals through a man's eye.

Throughout history the strenuous practice of yoga asana was traditionally taught to men seeking truth and great wisdom. Move through sun salutations, warrior sequences, forward bending and backbending to give you a solid foundation to participate in any yoga class thereafter.

Instruction will be hands on with an emphasis on exploring yoga postures through the unique masculine perspective. Expect to be inspired, challenged and walk away with a new passion for yoga.

Keeping Passion Alive

Yoga Lab Series

Master the Dogs: Refine Upward facing dog and Downward Dog with Grace and Ease with Sari Nisker

Have fun and expand your knowledge and understanding of the essence of Vinyasa - the upward facing and downward facing dog postures! Learn conscious placement and alignment of the primary dog poses: where your shoulders go, where your feet go, what is the purpose of these dogs and how to groove through 'chatarhunga dandasana' with certainty! Deepen your perceptive of the transitions and learn the mysterious toe action to glide gracefully from pose to pose in a vinyasa sequence. This is a great workshop to gain confidence, ease, strength and stamina in your yoga practice.
